Wiremold Prewired Raceway/Starr Electric/Ardrey Kell With education and healthcare being the No. 1 and No. 2 markets respectively for Wiremold, it’s no surprise that they would be eager to show Starr Electric improvements that had been made to its prewired raceway— particularly since Starr was serving as the electrical contractor on the $38 million Ardrey Kell High School project. Working with EDI to provide training for the new prewired raceway, Wiremold “worked very closely with Starr during the pre-manufacturing stages, reviewing drawings and discussing the small things that made a big difference when the product started to show up,” said Thomas Garrett, Wiremold’s Charlotte distribution sales representative. But, the help didn’t end there. “Wiremold had a lot riding on the success of this project, so several jobsite visits were made at various phases of the project to insure everything went as promised,” explained Garrett. “I’m happy to report that all went according to plan— no pun intended!” Craig Rush, the EDI account manager for Starr Electric, said, “The Wiremold prewired raceway came labeled per room as requested, making this installation the smoothest I have ever supplied to one of our customers. Starr Electric and EDI sought a solution for a labor-intensive surface raceway installation and got one with Wiremold prewired raceway.” So, what did Starr Electric think about this new product? “I’ve never seen anything designed so well,” said Kevin Berkebile, the company’s field superintendent. “We ordered over 10,000 square feet and the wire was labeled perfectly— there was not one problem.” He also described the prewired raceway as “dummy-proof.” “Anyone could pick it up and use it,” he said. “We saved hundreds, if not thousands on installation/man hours.” Tommy Penegar, also a field superintendent for Starr Electric, had similar accolades for Wiremold’s prewired raceway. “We couldn't have met the schedule without the DS4000 prewired,” he said. “I’ll use this product on our next project
